Hidden beneath Columbia University’s St. Paul’s Chapel, Postcrypt Coffeehouse has been an intimate New York institution since 1964, hosting artists from Jeff Buckley to Ani DiFranco. In this storied setting, flutist and composer Nikka Gershman brings together Bolling’s jazz-inflected lyricism, the virtuosity of Sarasate and Paganini, and excerpts from her own Atonement Sonata (to receive its world premiere in full at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall on March 22) and When We Used to Dance.
