The Sonatenabend program is a concert series designed for graduate-level collaborative pianists to work with top instrumentalists at Juilliard. Nikka will perform Prokofiev’s iconic Flute Sonata in D major with pianist Cosmo Coen, a neoclassical work that balances lyrical elegance with sharp rhythmic wit. Written during World War II, it showcases the flute’s singing line and agility while blending warmth, irony, and playful brilliance in a way that’s unmistakably Prokofiev.
